After developing in the Carolina youth hockey programs, Alyssa attended Shattuck-St. Mary’s prep school in Faribault, Minnesota for 4 years where she won a U19 National Championship in 2009.

She was named to the 2011 ECAC All-Rookie team and was an assistant captain in her junior year and co-captain her senior year. Alyssa was a finalist for the 2014 Hockey Humanitarian Award and was named 2014 ECAC Co-Defensive Defensemen of the Year, as well as being recognized as a Second Team All-American.

Upon graduation, Alyssa represented the Team USA Women’s National Team during the 2014 and 2015 Four Nations Cup, winning silver and gold, respectively. She played one season for the Boston Blades of the CWHL, winning the 2015 Clarkson Cup.
